As a new light source invented in the last century, laser has the characteristics of good directionality, high brightness, good monochromaticity, and high energy density. It has been widely used in industrial production, communication, information processing, medical and health, military, cultural education, and scientific research. According to statistics, from high-end optical fibers to common barcode scanners, the market value of laser related products and services is up to trillions of dollars every year. Laser products in China are mainly used in industrial processing, occupying over 40% of the market space.
The application of lasers is also ubiquitous in our daily lives. Let me briefly introduce the application of laser processing in the catering industry:
Melamine tableware, also known as imitation porcelain tableware, is formed by heating and pressing melamine resin powder. Melamine tableware is used in the catering industry and children's catering industry due to its lightweight, aesthetic, low temperature resistance, and non fragile properties.
Melamine tableware has:
1. Excellent solvent resistance;
2. The surface of the product has characteristics such as flatness, non-toxic, odorless, impact resistance, and the ability to automatically extinguish electric arcs;
3. Widely used in tableware, daily necessities, and other aspects.
4. Safe and hygienic, non-toxic and odorless,
5. Hard, durable, and not easily broken
6. Acid and alkali resistant, with superior resistance to oils, acids, alkalis, and various solvents
7. Smooth and clean surface for easy washing
8. Good temperature resistance, excellent performance between -20 ℃~+120 ℃
9. Lightweight, low specific gravity, moderate weight sensation
10. The surface can be printed with exquisite and bright patterns, and the product has stable coloring and good texture, giving it the beauty of traditional ceramics.
11. Low thermal conductivity, even when holding hot items, it can be easily held
So the marking on melamine tableware should be free of pollution, damage to the material, and the logo should be clear. This requires the use of laser marking technology
The basic principle of laser marking is that a high-energy continuous laser beam is generated by a laser generator, and the focused laser acts on the substrate material, causing the surface material to instantly melt or even vaporize. By controlling the path of the laser on the material surface, the required graphic and textual markings are formed.
The characteristic of laser marking is non-contact processing, which can be engraved on any irregular surface. The workpiece will not deform or generate internal stress, and is suitable for marking materials such as metal, plastic, glass, ceramics, wood, leather, etc.
